FAQs:
How Do I Join In?
1. Head to York on Saturday 21st March;
2. Start at any one of the venues and pick up an Imperial March stampcard;
3. Enjoy the beers!
There is no entrance fee and it is not ticketed. Please note that this is a popular event and we cannot guarantee each stout will last it out till the end of the day, but the venues involved will have a stand-by beer of ours on.
We hope you enjoy the March if you come along - we’re chuffed to show off some fantastic venues in York - so please drink responsibly and show the pubs and their staff some love.
Do I have to do a particular order?
No - you choose! We have recommended a route on the stampcard in terms of the shortest distance between venues, but you can choose whichever route you wish.
How far is it to walk?
The total distance is around 2.5miles using our recommendation route. Pubs are between 2 and 15mins apart.
Do I have to go to all the pubs?
Yes if you want to fill in your stampcard, but don’t feel that you have to complete the route - if you are just wanting to try a few of the stouts, you are still welcome to come along!
What are the serving sizes?
The beers are served in thirds or halves.
Can I drink other beer instead?
For a stamp on your card, you’ll need to have a measure of the IM stout. In the event that the IM stout sells out during the day, having any measure of another TP beer in that pub will get you a stamp.
What do I do with my full stampcard?
Completed stampcards can be exchanged for a tombola ticket at The Falcon. We'll have a range of tombola gifts available at the Falcon.
What allergens are in the beers?
Each pub will be able to advise on allergens in the beers being poured. If there is a beer you are unable to drink due to allergens, they will be able to offer alternate beer. Unfortunately, the exception to this is coeliac and gluten intolerance.
Where can I get food?
The venues that serve food are shown with an asterix in the stampcard. We’d also recommend Spark:York - they are not on the official route, but easy to find in central York.
Disabled Access
Due to the historic nature of buildings in York, some of the venues do have steps on their entranceways. Please do contact them if you have any specific accessibility requirements.
