Henshaws, Knaresborough

Earlier this year we were approached by Henshaws to be a part of their annual Charity Beer Festival, set to take place at the Arts & Crafts Centre in Knaresborough. This is something we were greatly looking forward to being a part of. Since we moved to Knaresborough last September, we've loved getting to know the local area, people, and businesses. It's clear to us that Henshaws plays a significant role in the community, with their events and of course, charity work.

Henshaws is a charity that has been helping people living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities for over 180 years: helping to reduce social isolation and increase independence through empowering disabled people to go beyond expectations and achieve their ambitions. Coronavirus has had a devastating impact on some of Henshaws services and service users.

The charity continues to take extraordinary measures to ensure everyone gets the support they need right now. The pandemic means the ability to raise funds has been hugely affected, with many events cancelled or postponed and the charity urgently needs to replace this lost income and fund the unprecedented additional work needed to support its vulnerable service users.

We really wanted to do our bit to help Henshaws out at this tough time, and so we're donating 10p from every can of "Perpetual Dawn" sold, either through our Taproom, webshop, or to trade. We will also be donating £1 from every pint sold of it on cask at our Taproom between the 31st July and 8th August.

Visit the shop to buy the beer.

If you would like find out more or would consider a donation to Henshaws, please visit their website.

We're looking forward to continuing to support this great local charity in the coming months and years!
