Mile Zero...

We promise to make use of our blog much more this year. To kick things off, here's our first entry from the always wonderful, give it up for... Mr Josh himself!

_____________

We are only one month into this new decade and already our spaceship has never been busier! Our now six-strong crew are working tirelessly to bring our Disco grooves (oh, and beer) to all the far reaches of the continent. We have been made to feel completely welcome in our new home of Knaresborough and were pleasantly surprised by how many of our new neighbours attended our inaugural taproom event just before Christmas. Rest assured that our on-site bar will be returning with a vengeance very soon; keep your eyes fixed on our social media for more details in the coming weeks. If you weren’t lucky enough to make it over to us last year; our taproom has TEN draft lines, a can fridge for drinking in or taking out, merchandise galore, guest street food, and all of the music that we love (minus the music we think you won’t love…).On top of our official brewhouse introduction to the local area, we have also attended Meet the Brewer / Tap Takeover events at two of our favourite local haunts: Blind Jack’s and Six Poor Folk. Having these brilliant venues (among others) so close to our premises makes us feel very lucky indeed! January has also seen our beers pour at Manchester CAMRA Beer Festival 2020, and the first ever Arundel Beer Festival; alongside tap takeovers at The Millowner’s Arms (Sheffield), The Pour House (Hessle), and The Bridewell (Liverpool). Busy times! In terms of beer releases, it has been a hectic month to say the least. We are extremely happy with how our recipes are turning out on our new brew kit – especially considering the large upscale; and are still hammering out Disco King, Wavelength and Lucid Dream like they are going out of fashion. They aren’t, we swear! Fresh cans of Project Zeus and Swerve Driver have been launching hops at customers’ faces far and wide, and the end of the month has seen a quadruple release! All of your favourite stockists will be showcasing Off the Grid (6.2 IPA), I Am No Tree (6.9 Root Beer Sour), Random Precision (7.2 IPA) and Mile Zero (15.0 Stroopwafel Imperial Stout) in the coming weeks. Drool.January has also seen the beginning of a monthly tradition that we are Disco (King) dancing about all the way down the A59. From now on, our York city centre taproom (The Fossgate Tap) will be running an event on the last Friday of every month in which all Turning Point beer and merchandise will be discounted by 10%. On top of this wondrous deal, expect to see rare specials, brand new releases, free gifts, and even the odd member of the Turning Point spaceship crew at each event! So, as you can see, January has been a busy one – and don’t expect anything to slow down anytime soon either! We have dozens of new beers and re-releases planned for 2020, alongside an average of more than one festival or tap takeover per week, taproom antics, more Fossgate Tap soirees, and an extremely special plan in place for our third birthday in May…Stay Disco![if !supportLineBreakNewLine]
